2015 Financial and Talent Management Forum



Since 2002, United Way Financial and Talent Management professionals have gathered for a time of learning, inspiration and professional growth. Our 2014 Forum, taking place from October 6-8 in New Orleans, Louisiana, will support the sharing of knowledge, experience and expertise as we work together to implement change in our communities. The Forum will be relevant to CFOs, Controllers, Finance and Accounting Directors, and Talent Management and Human Resource Professionals, regardless of your United Way metro size. This event combines financial management, human resource management and cross-functional topics; attendees will be able to focus on the issues that are most relevant to their particular duties and earn CPE or HRCI credits.

Attend the Financial and Talent Management Forum to gain knowledge in United Way governance, finance and talent management best practices, and compliance with nonprofit tax rules and good internal controls. The 2014 Forum is guaranteed to provide top-notch learning sessions and stimulating networking opportunities.

General sessions will feature a discussion on United Way Strategy, including a transformative learning experience; a session on Design Thinking which will challenge you to think in a different way as you navigate your United Way through a future strategy; and an Awards Luncheon to celebrate the Finance and Talent Management Leaders of the Year.

We are asking you to nominate your Human Resource or Finance colleagues by August 12, 2014. A description of each award, the requirements and the application instructions are in the links above for your reference. We are excited about the third year of awards recognition and we hope that you consider nominating someone for 2014.


The Host City Reception will be held at The National World War II Museum on Monday, October 6 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The National World War II Museum, located in the Central Business District, is currently ranked the #1 New Orleans attraction by TripAdvisor. We have reserved a block of rooms at Astor Crowne Plaza for those attending the Forum. Reservations must be made on or before September 19. After September 19, rates will not apply and housing requests will be accommodated on a space available basis only. Please note: The Crowne Plaza is fully booked for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, October 10-12, 2014. If you are planning to stay and enjoy New Orleans after the conference, please book your room at the Crowne Plaza for the days of the conference, and please see the New Orleans Convention & Visitor’s Bureau website to find a room for the following weekend.


Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is the closest airport, located approximately 16 miles away from the French Quarter. Ground transportation options from the airport can be found here.

While in New Orleans, the street car is an easy and inexpensive way to get around the city. You can board the streetcar directly across the street from the hotel. The stop is marked.
