Student United Way Leadership Retreat

September 12, 2014 | Alexandria, Virginia

DESCRIPTION

Young people across the country are improving their local communities by giving, advocating and volunteering in the areas of education, income and health. This powerful force called Student United Way is a network of more than 75 student-led organizations around the world in four different countries committed to advancing the common good.

The Student United Way Leadership Retreat is the annual gathering of student leaders, United Way staff, and university advisers from across the network. It’s an opportunity for students to gain valuable leadership skills, discover their potential to create positive change in their communities and forge lasting relationships with each other and United Way.

Registration fees are waived for United Way staff, student leaders, campus advisors and members of Omega Delta Phi fraternity. Beyond access to this learning opportunity, the waived fee includes transportation to and from the Capitol Hill tour, meals and SWAG.

Please note: All attendees must make their own arrangements for travel and lodging.

General sessions will focus on:

  • Increasing understanding of United Way
  • Understanding the impact Student United Ways can make in communities, while sparking individuals deep-seated passion to improve lives
  • Practical, real world skills for clubs
